  Albums
With the discovery of Azureus along with finally getting a decent internet connection, I have begun downloading whole albums instead of a song here and there. I hope, rather I feel that I'm making up for the sin of downloading music, which has raped music of the album.

My favourite albums for the time being are as follows:

  1. Prose Combat - MC Solaar

  2. 1,2,3 Soleils - Khaled, Taha and Faudel

  3. Niafunke - Ali Farka Toure

  4. Parallel Lines - Blondie

  5. Stop Making Sense - Talking Heads

  Time is running out
How do we manage, Jackie?

Que Going Away to College by Blink 182. I kid you not. Who said aging pop-punks from the 90s couldn't be profound? (And I'm not talking about going to college here).

But I am actually going away to college pretty soon. I don't know where yet as unis seem to enjoy keeping me in limbo, but I should soon. Even when I do know, I'll still feel uneasy.

  Book
I've never considered myself particularly good at the arts. I did literature up to O level and I can definitely say it was my weak spot. This always frustrated me because I do like to read, though I must say up till then I was still feeding on a diet that mainly consisted of Adrian Mole, Georgia Nicholson and Bumface. Those two years in that hot, stuffy classroom did not go to waste though. It really taught me how to look beneath the surface and encouraged me to go out there and find material equally as stimulating as the prescribed texts. Need I elaborate on how perfect the description in The Great Gatsby is? Or how the beautifully crafted society from The Chysalids really makes one think twice about the society we live in today? Classic novels can seem overwhelming and too much if you've never tried to read them before, but if you can scratch below the surface they really aren't.

I've never understood why some people like reading and others don't. It really gets me when people write on their facebook profiles that they don't read, or the only thing they've ever read is Harry Potter. I just want to scream out loud and tell them what they're missing. Maybe I'm being unfair because when it comes to other forms of entertainment such as film, I totally abstain. The thing is, I know I'm missing out. It's painful though, how so many don't know what they're missing when they don't read.

  I'm back (in black)

I hope everyone has sorely missed me in my absence. Through sheer laziness and perhaps a little embarrassment at as to who was looking at my blog, I decided to give it a rest for a couple of months. Those months turned into about a year and here we are!

A levels are coming up, which is slightly scary. It seems like only yesterday I was writing blog posts on my O levels, which at the time were also very scary. They aren't now, so hopefully when I look back on these exams when they're done I'll feel the same way.

As usual, I'm spending a lot of time procrastinating. Once again I am procrastination personified. Mocks are in a week and only NOW I've decided to bring this blog back to life. Funny how the mind works. I'll get by I guess, always do. Maybe this time my luck will run out, got to keep those fingers crossed.

Perhaps I'll be a little less sporadic with the entries now. It feels good to ramble again.

They still call me Sudi. Some things never change.
