  Melbourne
We spent about 10 days in Melbourne, browsing the many huge suburban malls, doing our very best at bargain hunting and going to see endless movies. We ventured out further afield to the city itself, lunching at quaint roadside cafes and eating way too much Japanese-provided by the large Japanese population there. We mastered the art of using the train network (yes Annelie I do know how to get myself off one now!) and met up with three different friends from SL, who each showed us something different in the city. We even experienced buskers Australian style. How about a guy on the street playing the diggerydoo to techno? =D

Zara and I-In the colddddddd

Krispy Kreme doughnuts, the most overrated establishment in Victoria. Opening in a sleepy suburb just over a month ago, it got a huge response. Fancy waiting AN HOUR AND A HALF in the drive thru queue for doughnuts. Quite frankly I have tasted better from the economy pack at TESCO though. They were nice, though not worth the time!

Eating the doughnuts finally-nearing 1am!

Melbourne is cold. It is winter right now I know, but I'm just not used to it. You'd think living in sunny old England for 12 years I'd have something to show, but I don't. Nonetheless we had an absolutely awesome time.

I'd say the highlight was visiting a small town 4 hours out of Melbourne called Buchan. Zara and I overslept, uncle Eric missed the turn - TWICE but we did get there in the end, after passng 350km of bush and giant rolling hills. It was home to the most beautiful caves created from the effects of hundreds of thousands of years of water on the limestone rock that the area is made from. Nothing would have prepared me for the utter beauty of the caves, which were almost 60m underground. It was a whole new world.

They still call me Sudi. Some things never change.
