  School Paper

A review I wrote for the school paper; vent. Not very good at all, I'm just the experimental science student =) Please tell me what you think.

Live at Stubbs – Matisyahu

Being vaguely familiar with the genre of reggae, this album struck me as something fairly out of the ordinary; an American Orthodox Jew producing semi religious reggae rock while at the same time managing to continue gaining mainstream success, with fans from all walks of life. Not your average Bob Marley protégé.
The album is essentially a half the songs from his debut, Shake off the Dust... Arise, performed live with a few other tracks added on for good measure. It easily outdoes the debut, breaking free of the sometimes produced and mechanical feel to be a cracker of a performance with great guitar solos.
Although it did not chart particularly well the album is accessible to all; fun to listen and chill out to, inoffensive and a breath of fresh air.

Best track: King Without a Crown/Exaltation
Rating: *** ½
